African Business Education Initiative for Youth (ABE Initiative), announced by Prime Minister Abe in June 2013, is a program that offers talented African youth the opportunity to study for master’s degrees at Japanese universities, and to join internship programs offered by Japanese companies. Through acquisition of skills and knowledge, as well as network building with Japanese companies, this program intends to cultivate excellent personnel who can be navigators for the development of industries in Africa. More than a thousand youths have already participated in the program.
